This was submitted as Science/NewsReport. It has now been moved to be a PressRelease. Although I agree with the above suggestion that events should be published in the calendar instead of the newswire it is currently allowed. [ R Isible ]
Problem is I reckon feck all people are looking at this notice board on protest.net.
And I also reckon it is not being used that much by organizations - not one event is penciled in from tomorrow onwards.
I'd higly recomend indymedia to put a small section on top of the front page to display notice board.
I don't think this newswire is being overun yet with stories being published, so I dont' see a major problem as of yet with the above posting. But hopefully, readership/postings will increase into the future at which point, postings like that above should not be on the wire - but if a notice board is not properly displayed then I think it will be a big pity.
That's why I don't like it when the SWP only reveal to their naive members the few facts that are considered safe for them to handle.
A nice Chomsky quote (sourced below):
"If the left is understood to include 'Bolshevism,' then I would flatly dissociate myself from the left. Lenin was one of the greatest enemies of socialism, in my opinion, for reasons I've discussed."
Which pretty much sums up exactly why your 'fact' about Chomsky giving interviews to the SWP is a _lie_. The SWP have a lovely habit of using peoples' work without their permission and censoring the bits they don't agree with.
Indymedia Ireland is a media collective. We are independent volunteer citizen journalists producing and distributing the authentic voices of the people. Indymedia Ireland is an open news project where anyone can post their own news, comment, videos or photos about Ireland or related matters.

In particular, does anybody know if they mentioned that Chomsky thinks the SWP are extreme counter-revolutionaries?

Chomsky is always being intervied in SWP publications and other left wing mags and papers.
Still i doubt if facts are of any importance to "Badman"
The SWP constantly reprint interviews he does with ZMag, but they don't interview him themselves.
