Supporting and Underlining the Importance of Minority Media

February marks the start of a campaign to call on organizations and initiatives to sign the European Manifesto for Minority Community Media. This manifesto supports and underlines the importance of minority community media and calls for recognition of the role this sector plays in Europe. The initiators aim to get as many signatures as possible by 15 April 2004. Organizations and initiatives interested to sign the European Manifesto can do so from 9 February 2004 onwards. The campaign will culminate in the presentation of the manifesto to the President of the European Parliament before the European elections in 2004.

The European Manifesto and the campaign are an initiative of Online/More Colour in the Media (OL/MCM) and the transnational network of national platforms of minority community media.
