Oscailt - the software that indymedia.ie runs off - took another step forward today in its quest for world domination with the launch of Anarkismo.net which uses Oscailt 3.0 There launch release follows
On Mayday the anarchist flames burns a little brighter
Mayday marks a celebration of resistance for the anarchist movement - in particular of the lives of our comrades murdered in Chicago in November 1887. This Mayday anarchist communists from Europe, Africa, Australia, North American and South American are pleased to mark the decades of anarchist struggle by announcing a new international anarchist communist news and discussion site.
Anarkismo.net uses the esperanto translation of anarchism to indicate that we want this site to become truly global and multilingual. Anarkismo.net publishes articles from the anarchist communist movement and other sources and facilitates serious discussion of the news and ideas they contain. Through this Anarkismo.net hopes to aid the spread of ideas and share experiences through the anarchist movement - wherever it is to be found.
We launch the site on Mayday 2005 but Anarkismo.net is the product of months of international co-operation and you will already find some 300 articles on the site and discussion well underway. Visit us now at http://www.anarkismo.net and join in our celebration of global anarchist resistance.

one question, tho.
Why doesn't your site have a link to the Oscailt page?
http://www.indymedia.ie/oscailt/
or this Oscailt button?
Oscailt button-link, at the bottom right of everying indymedia.ie page
There's a couple of reasons for the lack of a logo:
1. It's actually running oscailt 3.0 alpha from a couple of months back and it's incomplete, with various things missing, leading me on to reason two
2. I haven't got around to doing a version of the logo with a transparent background yet and I've don't have the original artwork so it'll take me a while and I don't have a lot of time at the minute, which brings me on to aside a)
a) A new all-singing, all-dancing oscailt is about to be realeased with all sorts of exciting new features and I've put together a new layout especially for indymedia.ie which will be up for testing any day now.
.
all good.
i didn't mean to imply anything about the lack of a logo, apologies
i look forward to 3.0 :-)
No thanks for pointing it out - it was a bit embarrassinng that we overlooked this!
Does this mean ye lot are going to be sitting next to Bono and Blair at next year's WEF doodling?
& could I have a sticker of "powered by oscailt" to put on my door/puerta?
What's Oscailt and why is it so class?
MORPHEUS: Oscailt is everywhere, it's all around us, here even in this room. You can see it out your window, or on your television. You feel it when you go to work, or go to church or pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
NEO: What truth?
MORPHEUS: That you are a slave, Neo. That you, like everyone else, was born into bondage... ... kept inside a prison that you cannot smell, taste, or touch. A prison for your mind.
