Rossport Five Rally - Belmullet

Saturday, 9th July at 2.00 pm in town centre

Belmullet is the capital of Erris and the rally in support of the Rossport Five to be held there on Saturday next must continue the fab pattern set by other capitals: Dublin for Leinster and Ireland; Belfast for Ulster; Cork for Munster; Galway for Connacht; Castlebar for Mayo and, now, Belmullet for the Barony of Erris!!

A cavalcade of cars will be leaving Dublin from Liberty Hall at 8.30 am on Saturday and will travel via Athlone to Castlebar, and then to Newport , Mulranney, Bangor Erris to Belmullet arriving at 1.30 pm or so.

Cars will display posters, stickers, banners, as apropriate, and should be readily recognisable. Calculate arrival time for your town and join the the procession!!!

Beeping of horns, flashing of lights, playing of music will all help to make your presence known as you pass through towns and villages.. All will appreciate the good humour and spirit of this motorcade for justice for the Rossport Five who by then will have spent ten days wrongfully in jail.

Come to the rally to hear fuller details of what is so fundamentally perverse about their jailing. Members of their families will address the rally as will public as will representatives of organisations, political or otherwise, which support fully the demands of the imprisoned men.
