Contractor hired by Limerick County Council in breach of legal pension fund requirement;
Limerick County Council awarded public tender contract in flagrant breach of public procurement procedures
Cro-Bar Construction Ltd., employed by Limerick County Council to force a disputed water pipeline into the village of Pallaskenry, is not compliant with the legally binding Construction Industry Registered Employment Agreement Pension Assurance and Sick Pay Scheme.
Limerick County Council is in flagrant breach of public procurement policy in awarding a contract to Cro-Bar Construction Company without this company being legally compliant.
Today in the Dáil, I called on the Minister for the Environment and Local Government, who was in the Chamber, to conduct an urgent investigation into this matter.
I now call on Limerick County Council to call off the pressure and injunctions against the residents of Pallaskenry/ Kildimo who are peacefully protesting against the imposition of water from a polluted source, the River Deel, when they already enjoy an adequate supply from the spring water Bleach Lough.
