Statement From Ógra Shinn Féin
Ógra Shinn Féin will today be holding a day of action against the arrival of British warship HMS Ocean in Dublin Port.
Ógra Shinn Féin spokesperson Brian Keane said, "The presence of this warship in Dublin today is an affront to the Irish people. It is impossible for Ireland to have regular relations with Britain, in particular the British war machine, when the occupation of our country continues.
"Britain's imperialist appetite has not abated, evidenced in their continued presence in this country, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world. HMS Ocean played a key role in the invasion and ongoing occupation of Iraq. gra Shinn F in will be conducting a number of actions throughout the day to highlight this issue and make it absolutely clear that young Irish people utterly reject the presence of British warships in Irish waters."
