Over The Edge welcomes substantial increase in City Council funding

Kevin Higgins and Susan Millar DuMars, who co-organise the Over The Edge literary events in Galway City Library and at Sheridan’s Wine Bar, have welcomed the substantial increase in funding the organisation has received in the recently announced 2006 Arts Grants from the City Council’s Arts Office:

“An increase of over 30% in our City Council funding for this year, on top of the 160% increase Over The Edge received last year, is obviously good news both for us as organisers and for the increasingly large numbers of people who participate in our wide range of literary events. We recently also received national Arts Council funding for the first time. So, we’re very happy with the support our events are receiving at the moment. Galway has a brilliantly vibrant literary scene right now. This increase in funding will help us do our bit to ensure that it gets even better.”
