Support the communities of Rossport and Bellanaboy
The National Irish Freedom Committee has been helping publicise the struggle in Rossport for quite some time now and we are the only Irish organisation here in America that has been vocal in our support of the community in Mayo, and have used our resources to help keep our members and other concerned people informed about what is going on there.

The National Irish Freedom Committee has been helping publicise the struggle in Rossport for quite some time now and we are the only Irish organisation here in America that has been vocal in our support of the community in Mayo, and have used our resources to help keep our members and other concerned people informed about what is going on there.
We view it as an more obvious than usual attack on community that the fatcats in leinster house couldnt care less about as well as an anti-enviromental monster being put in in an ecologically pristine landscape. The reasons we support and promote the EIRE NUA and SAOL NUA programmes is because they bring power down to the lowest level, only through the way put forward in these documents can communities have a say in how they are run, genuine power to the people, not just a slogan.
This August a number of members of the NIFC were back home. We attended and took part in the 25th anniversary commemoration of the 1981 Hunger Strike held in Bundoran, visited and interviewed Tan War veteran Dan Keating. One of the many things we also accomplished was visiting the people of Mayo who are active in opposition to Shell.
A video was made showing just how pristine this area is and how a refinery here will destroy it all. Interviews with the Corduff family and others directly involved in defence of their community and enviroment..

There is a new video on the NIFC website now regarding the situation in Rossport. The first video was just a little of what was filmed in Mayo. The new video is just under an hour and is more polished than the earlier video.Revolt Video (As is any other group active in support of Rossport ) is more than welcome to show this in Dublin today or any other time. We will post a press release regarding the new full length video soon.
We ask that concerned individuals/parties consider the fact that what is happening in Mayo and elsewhere could not happen under a new Ireland as envisioned in the EIRE NUA/SAOL NUA documents.
