Galway's Writer-in-Residence gives admission-free workshops
Micheal O Loughlin, recently-appointed writer in residence in Galway, will give a short series of poetry workshops at the Western Writers' Centre, starting on March 2nd. Admission is free.
Places will be limited to 10 maximum at the workshops, which will begin each session at 7. 30pm. It is expected that participants will have a knowledge of poetry to some degree or a sustained love of the art.
"I think it's important that workshops do not give the impression, often bandied around, that poetry is necessarily easy. It is a craft and must be learned." said Fred Johnston, the Centre's Director. "We are grateful to Micheal, who is a long-established practitioner of poetry, and to Galway City Council."
