Results of Survey shows massive opposition to the use of Shannon Airport in the Iraq War

The Peace & Nautrality Alliance commissioned Lansdowne Market Research Ltd to carry out an independent national survey of a representative groups of Irish people living in the Republic of Ireland.

They were asked:

Are you in favour of, or opposed to, the use of Shannon Airport by US troops travelling to and from Iraq?

The results were as follows;

In favour 19%
Opposed 58%
Don't know 2%
No opinion 21%

These figures show that a massive majority of Irish people oppose the use of Shannon Airport in the Iraq war. This information was sent to the corporate media on Friday 20th of April 2007 and was virtually totally ignored. PANA has always maintained that the corporate media are the strongest supporters of this Imperialist war and their refual to cover the results of this independent survey is one of the main reasons why Mr. Ahern and Fianna Fail are able to have destroyed Irish neutrality and integrate Ireland into the US/EU military structures to ensure Ireland's full and active participation in the resource wars of the 21st century.
