Controlling Your Asthma - Facts To Take Your Breath Away

Date: Tuesday November 11th 2008, 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Venue: The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, No.6 Kildare Street, Dublin 2

This public meeting aims to provide clear and concise information on the management, control and prevention of asthma as well as addressing the social and behavioural attitudes towards asthma today.

The meeting will discuss the prevalence of asthma, the impact of the condition and why it is so common in Ireland. Speakers will outline the types of asthma, current growth rates and discuss treatment, risk reduction, allergen avoidance and prevention.

Former International Rugby Player and asthma sufferer Mr. Denis Hickie, will chair the meeting and the speakers will include Dr Pat Manning, Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, Bon Secours Hospital Dublin; Prof Stephen Lane, Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, AMNCH, Tallaght, Dublin and
Dr Terry O’Connor, Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, Mercy University Hospital Cork

This meeting is open to all members of the public. If you cannot attend in person, we will be pleased to welcome your alternate, or your colleagues who have an interest in this topic.
