Animal Rights July Launch.


Animal Rights July kicks off tonight with The Animal Rights Debate followed by discussion.


The Animal Rights July program kicks off tonight at UCD with the showing of The Animal Rights Debate (Tom Regan, Mary Warnock, Richard Ryder, Steven Rose, Andrew Linzey & Germaine Greer).

Issues discussed include the numbers of nonhuman animals used and killed by humans globally, animal rights philosophy, the difference between animal rights and animal welfare, and the views of animal rights pioneer, Henry Salt.

The film will be followed by the opportunity to discuss the issues raised and Irish animal use statistics will be provided by Roger Yates.
