Peace in Kurdistan: Condemn Turkey’s Attack on Kurdish Freedom!

Pro-DTP rally in Dublin, Wednesday 16 December 2009.

Supporters of the banned DTP (Democratic Society Party) will protest outside the Embassy of the Turkish Republic, 11 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, at 1pm next Wednesday 16 December.

From there they will march to Dail Eireann.

DTP represents 2.5 million Kurdish voters in Turkey and was the fourth largest party in the Turkish parliament. It has been instrumental in moving forward debate on peace and democracy in Turkey as part of the Kurdish Peace Initiative.

The ruling by Turkey’s highest court on Friday to ban the party was a political decision. It is an attempt to exclude Kurdish voters from the democratic process.

Stand in solidarity with the parliamentarians and members of DTP, and the 2.5 million Kurdish voters who have been disenfranchised by this Turkish decision.

All Welcome.

Organised by Kurdistan Solidarity Ireland.
