MAGHABERRY GAOL PROTEST

REPUBLICAN NETWORK for UNITY (RNU) Cathaoirleach/Chairperson, DANNY MCBREARTY, has called on the Republican community to support a unified protest this Sunday at Maghaberry Gaol.
“The rally is a follow up to the successful white-line pickets held across the Six Counties on Thursday past. Which were held to highlight the harsh conditions endured by Political Prisoners in Maghaberry.
This Sunday’s rally at 4pm has been organised after Easter Sunday’s confrontation in the gaol, when Republican Prisoners protested at mistreatment by the Prison Regime. It is held by the families, friends of those currently incarcerated at Maghaberry.
RNU challenge those with a genuine interest in human rights to investigate oppression of Republicans in Maghaberry. It is shameful that Political Prisoners should suffer from a dispute between the Administration and Staff.
Even though, the British government and its quislings in Stormont and the RUC/PSNI use special laws and non-jury Courts to imprison Irish Republicans. They continue to portray Republicans as criminals. Has nothing been learned nothing from the tragic death of ten Hunger-Strikers in 1981?
The Republican Network for Unity demands the immediate restoration of Political Status. We also offer continuous support and solidarity to all Political Prisoners and their families”.
