People dying on the streets of India

category international | miscellaneous | news report author Saturday November 06, 2010 06:50author by Jim Report this post to the editors

India's shame
Releaved starving women gets a meal and 500 rupees - on the streets of Mumbai, India
Releaved starving women gets a meal and 500 rupees - on the streets of Mumbai, India

Just got back home from a long India trip. I was originally going to
Ladakh (generally Tibetan Buddhist area) for a full on hiking and stay
with locals expedition. The weather this year over the Himalayan
mountain barrirer has been unprecidently rainy - turning the area into
a disaster zone, the usually dry mud and rock puddingstone glacial
moraines turning to liquid mud flows and landslides....due to the
climate change induced rain happening there. After hiking around
150Km, I gave up in the end and evacuated back over the mountains to
Manali in Himalchal Pradesh state. I then went on a slightly aimless
bumming round India trip for 2.5 months or so...after I got through a
oz of Manala cream hashish infused with opium I think (that was an
accident)...in Manali...I wouldn't noramly smoke opium.

In many areas in Indian cities you see people lunched on the sidewalk.
Some of these folks are in a very serious state of starvation and pain
and disease, some of them elders that f'ing well deserve respect.
However in 'modern India' a lot of money is being made by some
people...and yet they don't seem to think that helping people in
urgent need is a sound thing for them to do, and sometimes even
dismissing them with a "its their karma". In the immediate situation I
tried to do what I could do...buying a meal, giving water and money.
This woman, for example was near CST railway station In Bombay
(Mumbai). She was VERY hungry. There are many people like this.

India is quite frankly a loony bin of a place. The Aryans invaded X
years ago (thousands years?), and incorporated indigenous Dravidian/
folk religions into the new order - The Brahamic Hindu caste system
order...with fair skin, the skin colour of the Aryan invaders, being
seen as 'high caste'. The Dravidans with their dark skin were
relegated to 'low caste' by the Aryans. Tribal people were completely
excluded from this racist ritual abuse senario. The position in
society/caste, being touted by the ritual abuse sytem as 'ones karma'
by the Aryan Brahmic priest order, and if you were a good citizen type
thing, you might get reborn next time in a higher cast (with fairer
skin)....I mean isn't that just so f'ing evil! Watch those Aryan's -
very very dodgy. (a sicko senario now worth $1 billion a year in skin
lightening creams). Now many tribals in India are being more or less
summilarily evicted from their lands (that means millions of real
people) in order that the new India can make economic progress....and
many end up homeless and hungry on the streets on Indian cities with
these so called high castes walking by them saying "oh its their karma
that they're starving on the street"!!! The so called high castes in
India get all or most of the advantages and breaks and money. The
Hindu caste system is very much entrenched in India, and very much to
do I think, with the massive corruption in The Indian political and
economic system...the 'high castes' think that they can do whatever
the f'k they want regardless of legal statute etc etc - much like the
old school blightyworld aristocracy.

And these scum ignore dying human beings with a dismissive "its their
karma"

By the way, I did not see the same scenes of horror on the streets of
democratic socialist Kerala state...but over the border in Tamil Nadu,
there were people dying and sick being ignored by individuals and the
state/government.

Please do what you to help the real needy folks like this...just
imagine being in this situation...starving, in pain, no one to help
you...

Bles

MAKAH TRIBAL SOVEREIGNTY!
;)

author by Mike Novackpublication date Sat Nov 06, 2010 13:04author address author phone Report this post to the editors

(and if your "signature" MAKAH TRIBAL SOVEREIGNTY! means what it might, you SHOULD be more senstive to this possibility)

Is it quite correct to think of the difference between Kerala and other parts of India simply in terms of modern politics? Or might the differences better be explained by the ethnic/tribal differences and historical differences. Perhaps the reason why Kerala is more socialist (and the position of women different) compared to the rest of India has more to do with those factors than the other way around.

If you ARE a "tribal person" you should assume that peoples of different tribes behave differently. It's one thing to "tourist" a place, another to study its history and anthropology. In THOSE terms there are many ways in which the Kerala is different..

Kerala is different from other states in India. It elected communist governments in the past and has a high literacy rate. Why? One reason may be that it has a large christian population with a compassionate ethos and devotion to community education. The catholic and protestant schools have raised literacy levels and the christians do not have the same sense of caste resignation as India's majority hindus.

and stop wasting space. This is the global age.

Besides, our own caste system creates similar problems on a smaller scale. Or if global is too much of a stretch, at least see the parallels with the 'untouchable' Roma, and our own indigenous homeless.

...Come on, this is a genuine situation there in India, and there is no Indymedia India at present so the post ended up here. I am fully aware of the problems of western society by the way..'here' or whatever.

These sorts of folks in India are not alchohics blagging punters for another can of special brew. These are folks close to death through starvation, illness or old age etc. I am trying to shame the well off in India to share with people in genuine need...plus waking up visitors to India to share thus in stead of what can happen - a sort of fascist mind controlly blocking of the pain of other human beings. Traditional Makah values, as with most Native American tribes would include sharing with elders (who do get respect in this sort of society, regardless of supposed 'caste' etc)...a reality that people should have respect for.

The reality IS that many millions of 'tribals' in India are being violently evicted from their traditional lands, and forcing into destitution on the streets of cities. THIS IS THE REALITY. Its not just me saying this, many natives to India are also. I just find it amazing that the (white) Aryan invadors set up this racist ritual abuse senario that permanently excluded the original indigenous (black) people for time immemorial, unless they were good little c***'s and then they might get reborn as a higher caste (white fairer skin). Thats really f'ing sick. Its been described as a racist apartide system. I go further and say it is racist ritual abuse. So where does that leave Hindus (LOL)...well there is always the thing of making a sound free range version of a ritual abuse establishment religion...likewise with (masonic) christianity in the western paradigm...thus the pro tribal anarchist Ghandian and anti Brahmic caste system type thing.

There was much much less sick etc people dying on the street in Kerala, because a/ the socialist state, and b/ socialist people! (rather than brain dead c***'s). Basically.

I would say that Kerala needs environmentally/socially sound development...especially permaculture projects, but also conscious dance/rave stuff like the Exodus Collective - that could be assisted by the state in terms of land gift to a local collective and planning permission etc. It would a group of very determined and focused folks to help make project like this happen in kerala. Be aware that these good people give solidarity to indigenous people, and that would include the Makah tribal whalers - so no animal rights hegmony please! By the way I dont think its a matter fo the christian population being present there in Kerala - the Marxist type parties have political people elsewhere in India (i.e. not in christian areas). The caste system was never as strong in the South of India, because the Aryan perversion of indigenous Dravidian etc religion never gained the position in the south that it did in the north...and in modern times many people have turned against the Hindu caste system, especially in south India. In fact their is a movment by Tamils to reclaim their Dravidian temples from the Brahmic caste system senario. People are aware of these issues in India, so there really is no need to go on a "we have are own problems in the west so don;t critise 'emerging economies' type thing". Grow up. People on the street etc in India asked me (as foreigner with acess to the media etc) to promote this cause. OK? Is that ok then western right on politico's?

Its for really and really horrific you silly western so and sos. Go there and see what I mean. I find it disgraceful that reasonably well off people can walk by people in serious and urgent need. The problem is their consciosuness, and what I'm saying is that ritual (racist) abuse is a substantial part of the story why they do. I'd go further than that to say that the elite etc in India is product of this racist ritual abuse system. Its the way power works - this class of people get the big breaks in society...and thus the huge corruption problem etc.

..all full time road travellers get a very hard time in the UK. I didn't realise there were Roma in Ireland by the way..at least not in terms of traditional indigenous travelling Roma...who have or did until recently, the travelling lifestyle. Many of these folks have great respect in society (speaking in terms of Kent UK, anyway). There has been a huge influx of Roma from Eastern Europe, into mainland Europe especially.

These Roma were generally settled (in houses etc) until very recently, and I think its fair to say, are not in the same reality as the long time UK based Roma travellers. Thats just the reality. Communism excluded them from society, and in return they got basic level benefits. Now thats been cut, their are serious problems getting this crew active in free enterprise society. Now free you may say ''free enterprise' is a load of shit (man)'. However work values do tend to be quite central to any society...in a sense this (Eastern Europe) Roma crew need rehabilitation. (generalising)...again this analyis is not politically 'right on'...but this is merely repeating stuff already stated by actual Uk traveller organisations. So Eastern European Roma show up in the western European situation, and their aim is not always to find regular work etc and merge benefically with the local communities..not always, OK naive politico fools?!!!! I poersoannly think they take the piss (generalising), and don't know when to get off the blag - speaking as an individual and interacting with them as they sell 'Big Issue' or whatever...likewise serious street alchys and smack heads (very often this crew will be both) - i.e. they are totally fucked up and will lie (blag) you endless and beyond any sort of 'respect'. I.e. fk off and stay away from me weirdo's!

I know about racism/fascism directed towards full time travellers having lived with the peace convoy a few years ago...and I would say that it exceeds any other racism in society, certainly the UK. The situation for UK peace convoy is much more relaxed in Ireland. For that I say thank you and bless you Irish. ..drongo's screwing things up for other folks is something that any travellers are very much aware of, and this brew crew/rip off element is a very negative inflluence that regular good travellers have to deal with, and would rather not have to deal with it! I know I do write politics, but people need to know, for example, that the peace convoy central type ethic would be spiritual based free sharing - not politicaly enforced sharing. Thus is a 'those that know' situation, which isn't 'vangardism or anything - just a bunch of folks and individuals that 'know. Have some respect please, politico 20 years olds!

"There was much much less sick etc people dying on the street in Kerala, because a/ the socialist state, and b/ socialist people! (rather than brain dead c***'s). Basically"

...in fact I only saw only...an older man lying on the pavement. in Ernakulam district in the state of Kerala. He was very thin. I gave him 500R. That was the only street emergency type case I saw there. When I first got to India I was even bunging selected workers with bonuses...like the road workers, street cleaners, who have a very tough job and get paid very little. Oh also in fact the kitchen boys. Some of these kids would be not much over 5 or 6 years of age, sometimes treated like shit/slaves. Vunerable to sexual abuse/exploitation. Very often from the dark skinned 'low castes'. That makes it racist ritual child abuse. Yes its that bad, that evil! ..so in order to make their lives a little less shitty, I'd bung these kids a 500 or 1000 R note. One time, in Manali, I got surrounded by a big crowd of these kitchen slave boys - they all solemly waited in turn to shake my hand.

Quoting myself:

"likewise serious street alchys and smack heads (very often this crew will be both" - as in the street alchy crew, not the Roma by the way!

I find it incredibly that the street alchy crew actually get off on the drugs they are taking, because they take them all the time - its absolute lunacy...constant all emcompassing drug abuse. Alchohol from 9am, Heroin every day, any other drugs when available...every day, all the time. I have spent a few hours with this sort of crew now and again...and always break away after a couple of hours. Absolute manical drug abuse. Not all UK etc homeless are like this of course, but a substantial percentage, and there will be the blag element of course, as in a front being presented to the punters..and the naive, that they are actually homeless (when some will be living is (squalid usually) flats. The reality is that, for whatever reason, (not always of course) if you give cash to a UK homeless person you are giving an alchoholic their drug, or/and a smackhead their fix. Its a total and complete world away from the street homelsess/destitue in most Indian cities. TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY. Another universe.

...Jah Warriors, playing tunes, parking up in city centres, creating a happening which would include food, homelessness and poverty solutions - the collective anarchy vibration. I imagined this happening as I was walking around Bombay Mumbai CST rail station - listening to tunes on the mobile, it could be very very powerful..but I think it would need a core group of sound people from the UK etc, people who 'know' (sorry!), in order to kick off the vibe...haha. Jim, you had a nice holiday in india, threw a few euro around to the desperately poor and felt all self satisfied with their overwhelming gratitude. Good for you. However that is a shitty reason to be charitable and it does not give you the right to lecture people about how wrong they are to help the poor in their own back yard first.

statements like
"The reality is that, for whatever reason, (not always of course) if you give cash to a UK homeless person you are giving an alchoholic their drug, or/and a smackhead their fix."
will not win you any friends!

Whats the matter? do Irish / English poor people not shower you with enough adulation when you fling them a few shekels? Not desperate enough for you?
