It was decided to forward a proposal when it came to hand from Rev Fr Thomas Somerville to Geoff Day the supremo of suicide prevention in Ireland who is the officer-in-charge of the implementation of "Reach Out" the recently published national policy document on suicide prevention. Somerville’s policy would involve the setting up of a hostel in each of the four provinces of Ireland as a refuge where people who are suicidal can go and reap the benefit of meeting like-minded individuals.<br />
