Support the Prisoners on “Dirty Protest”

category dublin | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Tuesday August 16, 2011 19:49author by Republican Network for Unity - Dublin - Republican Network for Unity - Dublin Report this post to the editors

The Republican Network for Unity will be holding a protest on the 3rd and again (on the 13th of September, to be confirmed) at 1pm in Dublin to highlight the ongoing situation in Magheberry Gaol.

As it stands, republican prisoners are still engaged in a “Dirty Protest” because of the Prison Service and Stormont Minister, David Ford, refusing to implement last Augusts agreement that would have led to the end of degrading-stripsearches. Please come along and show your support for the POW's!

Protest - GPO, Dublin
Time – 1 pm
Date - 3rd September

POWs??? Come on. How can you describe them as POWs? Let's not glorify their actions. Of course I am for humane treatment of prisoners but to describe them as POWs, FFS!

The vast majority of people on this island agree on how things should proceed, however a small group of "purists" won't move on.

Well done to the RNU and all Irish citizens who are supporting our POWs in enemy consentration camps.  Buíochas le Dia, Ireland still has patriots, who have not been scared off or bought off by scams like the GFA.  Victory to the POWs.
