Defending the Community Sector - Open Meetings for all Community Workers

worker & community struggles and protests |
press release
Wednesday August 17, 2011 17:12 by SIPTU Community - SIPTU
Regional Forums (Cork, Limerick, Galway, Dublin, Sligo)
The last three years have seen deep funding cuts to community projects. However we have also seen workers and activists defend their projects like never before. Undoubtedly, without union organisation and mobilisation the cuts suffered would have been a lot worse for workers and communities. The meeting will be addressed by local and national activists, SIPTU organisers and officials. There will also be an open discussion on the issues and the way forward. All community workers are encouraged to attend both union and non union members. If you have any queries, please e-mail Darragh O’Connor at doconnor at siptu dot ie.
