Horse Racing kills Horses

category waterford | animal rights | press release author Friday August 19, 2011 13:10author by Bernie wright - Alliance for Animal rightsauthor email bigbrownrat at gmail dot com Report this post to the editors

End horse abuse by the irish Turf Club

AFAR would like to  strongly condemn the killing of four horses at Tramore Racetrack on Sunday . APPARENTLY …a combination of fast ground and tight bends contributed to an incident-filled four-day festival at Tramore last week but there was an unfortunate heavy toll on Sunday.

AFAR does not accept the weak excuses for these animals losing their lives and suffering needlessy in the name of profit and gambling.

Death on the tracks

AFAR does not accept the weak excuses for these animals losing their lives and suffering needlessy in the name of profit and gambling.the turf Club have openly admitted that quick ground can make Tramore a difficult track to ride!!! Why send these animsals out to die and at the very least have them whipped around a track or sustaining injuries.

‘quick ground can make Tramore a difficult track to ride’

We call for an end to all Horse Racing , in this day and age, the gamblers can use alternative means to satisfy their addiction.

I am afraid that when it comes to money, the rights of defenceless animals come a poor second.  When the 'trainers' don't have respect for their workers (JLC rates) it is not surprising that they have absolutley no respect for other livng beings.

The few horses who are mentioned as killed on the racecourse, usually when a number are killed at the same meeting, are part of a bigger picture of horses killed off track too. So called thoroughbred horses (in reality inbred) are raced through the meat factories as fast as on the race course. Some sport!!

In the Racing Industry the horses are mere commodities. The horses killed on the track are the tip of the iceberg; thousands of horses that don't make it for one reason or another end up in tins of dog and cat food.

Greyhound racing is on it's way out. Horse racing will be more difficult to get rid of because:

The people participating in it are rich

The people profiting out of it are rich

The people with influence are rich

Same old, same old.
