Dublin City University Invites Aspiring Entrepreneurs to Free Start-Up Event

DCU Business School’s MarketingLab wishes to invite Irish entrepreneurs, SMEs, start-ups and students to the Helix, DCU for this year’s Get Started mini-conference which takes place on Tuesday, 18th February from 2pm - 6pm. The event is organised under the Techspectations initiative with support from IC4, North Dublin Chamber of Commerce, the Sunday Business Post, Edelman, HP and Microsoft.

“Get Started 2014” will kick off with three presentations on social entrepreneurship and exploring the opportunities and challenges of setting up social enterprises. The speakers for this first session include Sean Coughlan, CEO, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, Iseult Ward, Co-Founder, Foodcloud and Daithi De Buitleir, RAG Ireland

The second session will be chaired by Dr Eric Clinton of the DCU Centre for Family Business. It will kick off with Eric questioning a panel of entrepreneurs on their experiences in setting up their own businesses. Panellists include:
• Karl Tyrell, Founder and CEO, Book-a-Bed
• Simon Geraghty, Owner & Founder, DotDash
• Kim Knowles, Co-Founder, Coldlilies
• Lulu O’Sullivan, Chief Executive & Founder, GiftsDirect.com and The Irish Store
