Shame of the hanging string in Leinster emblem

category international | eu | opinion/analysis author Wednesday September 03, 2014 14:54author by Mick MacThomais Report this post to the editors

The Irish emblem of stste and the 13 string the infamous "hang mans string" and why after the total abolishment of the death penalty that it has not been removed from the emblem that represents our unarmed peaceful state built from the humanitarian resistance of "unarmed resistance",which our Nation is famous.

The presence of the hangmans string or the thirteenteenth string of the Irish emblem ,the Harp is politically and socially unnecessary and yet it is still sported by government departments reluctant to modernize.

The death penalty was removed totally from the Irish Constitution following the Lisbon Treaty and yet the removal of the thirteenth string or at least its modrn interpretaion has still not been met by the "old colonial power " of Grattans Parliament.

Irish truckers are taxed on British roads despite been guaranteed safe passage and freedom of trade when passing an Irish lighthouse,a fund still shared by the old colonial power and yet a total disregard for the purpose and duty of service for those whom pass by them .

We are the inheritors of the lights and their "keepers" ,yet Grattans Parliament has still more sway then the Lisbon Treaty for instance.

If not why not deduct the infringement on "safe passage "guaranteed to all including those in the Schengen Area (which Ireland has not joined!). Certainly effects the rights of the citizens enjoying Freedom Of Movement containe within the Schengen?

However if the thirteenth string is still sported by the authorities that be ,then the issue of Britains /Grattan is a faustiuan arangement in which Britain do not have to address the "Gibrawlter issue" whilst any poicing or infringement o Irish citizens and their rights ofs European Union citizens is also infringed upon.

Sort it out say the people and loose the emblems of savagery Mr Policemen ....please!!?
