Support the Climate Strike Movement! -Friday Sept 20th

category international | environment | event notice author Tuesday September 17, 2019 22:37author by foe - Friends of the Earth Report this post to the editors

It's a Climate Emergency. - And on September 20th, we're filling the streets.

On Friday the 15th of March 2019 1.6 million people took part in a global climate strike in more than 125 countries in more than 2,000 locations. In Ireland more than 15,000 students took part in protests for urgent climate action.

This September 20th, we're going to smash that number. But we need you to make that happen!

Human produced percentage of the residual cO2 in the atmosphere is NOT sufficient to cause climate change.
Human activity cannot hope to halt or attenuate climate change significantly. It's ludicrous to believe it can.

Nor can carbon taxes imposed by neoliberal governments on poor people or forcing everyone to buy greenwash electric cars
with batteries that need replacing every few years

or buying beef from Brazil which involves neoliberal puppet bolsanaro burning the fucking rainforests and shipping his dodgy beef 6000 foodmiles to the EU while at the same time cutting clean regulated low food mile Irish beef by 25% because cowfarts
so germans can sell more CO2 spouting cars into the south american market

Can you not see AGW is simply a cynical con job?

The EU knows this well as their cynical actions over mercosur deal clearly demonstrate!
Don't be fooled.

CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere.
Of that 0.04% only 3.9% of that is likely due to human activity.
that 3.9% of 0.04% includes all the output of China, the US, the US military, etc etc.
Ireland's entire CO2 output isn't even measurable. it's completely lost in the error noise of the figure of 3.9%

the rest of the 96% of the 0.04% figure is from natural sources we can do little to change.
Not that it actually matters as it's the sun that causes climate change not minute concentrations of CO2
as we have been fooled into thinking by various vested interests pushing this unscientific garbage.

Water vapour is a far more prevalent greenhouse gas at between 1% - 4% of the atmosphere.
we can do absolutely nothing about that no matter how many expensive yacht trips useful idiot greta
takes across the atlantic!
