The power outage in Spain and Portugal wasn't caused by extreme weather, but by an over-reliance on wind and solar. If the UK continues on its headlong path to Net Zero, we can expect similar failures.

Why do we fail to deport those whom we should deport? It's due in the end, says Dr David McGrogan, to an excess of pity. We are pitying ourselves into disorder and social decay. We need to be willing not to be nice.

Anti-Bin Tax Public Meetings

category dublin | bin tax / household tax / water tax | press release author Wednesday September 17, 2003 04:09author by Declan Gallagher - Campaign Against the Service Chargesauthor phone 087 632 9511 Report this post to the editors

A Press Release on behalf of the Campaign Against the Service Charges (Dun Laoghaire)

The Dun Laoghaire - Rathdown Campaign Against the Service Charges (CASC) will be holding a public meeting in Dun Laoghaire at the Kingston Hotel on Thursday night at 7:30pm and in Dundrum at the Dundrum Family Recreation Centre at 8PM.

The meeting is being held in light of the the recent offensive by the Fingal and Dublin City Councils.

In Santry a council truck has been held by a blockade within a cul-de-sac in a estate of non-payers and in Rathmines Council workers took a hour stoppage but were forced to return to work when the managemnt threathened them with mass sacking.

In the Dun Laoghaire - Rathdown County it is un-decided wheather the council will introduce any of the ploy's that have been implemented by other county council's.

More anti-bin tax meetings within the Dun Laoghaire - Rathdown county are to follow in Ballybrack and Shankill in the coming weeks.

If the SWPers are allowed to push their false and incorrect tactics on the anti bin tax movement we WILL be defeated. I am more and more coming to the conclusion that the SWPers should be completely isolated from all bin tax campaigns.

Swatcher posted a similar comment on another thread (the one about the Balinteer meeting) within three minutes of swaper watcher posting here. Obviously the same troll trying to divide the campaign.
Someone must be worried about the support the campaign is getting.

It does seem to me that the SWP do have incorrect tactics in the bin tax campaign. Whether yourman is a troller or not I think it is improtant that the the false positions of the SWP are identified, discussed and an alternative proposed.
