Why Would Ireland Imitate the US or the 3rd Reich?

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | opinion/analysis author Sunday February 22, 2004 01:11author by Watchdogauthor email jejonik at juno dot com Report this post to the editors

There's a Dark History to "anti-smoking".

All fraudulent laws are created, as they were in the time of Mussolini and elsewhere, to be "for our protection".
How many know of Hitler's "concerned" and "wholesome" anti-smoking" policies?

Here's an interesting quote from http://www.forces.org/evidence/pharma/conclusions.htm

"In fact, the anti-tobacco movement could well have borrowed many of its tactics directly from the Third Reich. Like the National Socialists, the U.S. and the WHO have developed and funded agencies for the sole purpose of eliminating tobacco use, agencies which have created vast propaganda campaigns against smoking. Hitler's Germany severely restricted tobacco advertising and enacted public smoking bans, two of the major goals of the WHO and U.S. anti-tobacco movements. "

And this gem from a fundamentalist site http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=36544

"In the late 1930s, we called for increased taxes on cigarettes and later instituted bans on cigarette advertising. I am most proud of the legislation we introduced prohibiting sales of cigarettes to minors. We set up counseling centers for the psychological treatment of smokers and we established smoke-free restaurants. " [ A. Hitler ]

There are MANY hits available doing a Google Search for "Third Reich Smoking" or "Hitler Smoking". Amazing actually.
We have the neo-Nazi elements using this info to show what a swell guy Adolph was...while those who hate the smoke bans use the info to show how fascistic the bans are.
Neither side pays attention to what's IN a typical cigarette besides tobacco...such as the chlorine, pesticides, radiation, untested additives of all kinds, carcinogenic fibers and dust from filters and so on.
Both sides, therefore, give a Big Gift to the cig industry, all their suppliers, all their investors, all their insurers AND all their sociopathic friends in government.

Incidentally, how many know that former industrial parts of the 3rd Reich, Bayer and Exxon/Mobil (nee Eastern Standard Oil) are PART of the Big Cig...via their tobacco pesticides? THEY aren't "banned" from participating in secretly contaminating the products and unwitting smokers...nor are they dragged into liability courts.
See: http://www.griffin.peachnet.edu/caes/tobacco/handbook/worker-stand98.html

Search "tobacco pesticides", "tobacco dioxin", etc...and follow your nose. It's not cigarettes that smell...it's the entities that let this global secret poisoning of tobacco happen...and who now desperately hope to evade liabilities...and prosecution.

This must NOT be allowed to be about "smoking"...since that serves to blame the victims. It's about MANUFACTURING... and about grotesque. government-approved contamination of a traditionally used plant.

John leCarre calls it "spiked tobacco". It's not JUST tobacco any more than pesticide-contaminated water is just water.
