The Strange Death of Knowing Stuff Wed Dec 24, 2025 19:00 | Dave Summers
In his Sixth Form Christmas quiz this year, none of Dave Summers's students could name the author of To Kill a Mockingbird ? previously one of the easy questions. Another sign that wokery is dissolving our culture.

If Christmas songs fall foul of Labour's 'banter ban', Christmas carols ? with their 'offensive' assertions of the divinity of Christ that are deemed blasphemous by Islam ? are even more likely to, says Julian Mann.

Starmer to Push Britain into Stricter Net Zero Targets Under EU Deal Wed Dec 24, 2025 15:26 | Will Jones
Keir Starmer is preparing to tie Britain to the EU's Net Zero plans in a move that would impose radically stricter 'green' energy targets on homes and businesses, leading to further deindustrialisation and impoverishment.

Jump To Comment: 1The Tchaïkovsky Perm State Ballet performs at The Point from Thursday, the 9th of December to Sunday, the 12th of December.
Some may wonder how the relatively isolated city of Perm could produce a ballet company second only to the Kirov and the Bolshoï. The company's roots go back to 1870, to the foundation of the Tchaikovsky Perm State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
However its development into a world-class ballet company dates to the Second World War, specifically the siege of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). With the arrival of enemy forces, many of members, teachers and students from the Kirov were evacuated from Leningrad, to the safety of Perm, a town far to the east.
There they continued their work with the Tchaïkovsky Perm State Opera and Ballet Theatre, bringing with them the high standards for which the Kirov was already known. After the war, a number of the Kirov trainers and performers elected to stay in Perm, where they helped the Tchaïkovsky Perm State Ballet develop into one of the most highly regarded schools in the Soviet Union.
For this show, the Tchaïkovsky Perm State Ballet will perform with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. The Tchaïkovsky Perm State Ballet troupe includes Irish soloist ballerina Monica Loughman for these performances. Monica Loughman is the first member of the Perm Ballet not from the ex-Soviet Union.
The performances will showcase Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and Prokofiev's Cinderella with a company of 70 dancers, a 100-piece orchestra and an array of septecaulcar sets and dazzling costumes. A wonderful festive event to be enjoyed by all the family, the Tchaikovsky Perm Ballet perform at The Point from the 9th of December.

I had No brekkie this morning, but I _did_ stretch my legs.
Prezzie ZP is in Moscow for afternoon tea and croisants with Mr Putin, ZP is accompanied by his wife, a piano teacher, Sra Sonsoles Espinosa.
Pressie ZP has conveyed the best wishes of his government and the peoples of España and the King of España to Mr Putin and the peoples of the Russias, and Mr Putin has accepted an invitation to celebrate a state visit with lots of flags and big cars and nice dinner next year most probably in April.
The increased diplomatic "entente" which has emerged between Russia and European states (most notably Switzerland, France and Spain) in the last two weeks might signal a move to a multi-polar geo-political strategy by civilised nations.
