The Strange Death of Knowing Stuff Wed Dec 24, 2025 19:00 | Dave Summers
In his Sixth Form Christmas quiz this year, none of Dave Summers's students could name the author of To Kill a Mockingbird ? previously one of the easy questions. Another sign that wokery is dissolving our culture.

Will Labour Ban Christmas Carols Next? Wed Dec 24, 2025 17:00 | Julian Mann
If Christmas songs fall foul of Labour's 'banter ban', Christmas carols ? with their 'offensive' assertions of the divinity of Christ that are deemed blasphemous by Islam ? are even more likely to, says Julian Mann.

Starmer to Push Britain into Stricter Net Zero Targets Under EU Deal Wed Dec 24, 2025 15:26 | Will Jones
Keir Starmer is preparing to tie Britain to the EU's Net Zero plans in a move that would impose radically stricter 'green' energy targets on homes and businesses, leading to further deindustrialisation and impoverishment.

...Oireachtais reform from the next Senator from the Border Counties, Sean McKiernan Jnr. A living legend
yfg looking for eyeballs on indymedia the most downright despicable anarcho-pinko terraist website on the irish branch of the internets?
irony is dead certainly and the title of the fg publication just rubs the point in on top of the ashes between the eyes(balls).
no harm to Lucinda but she looks a bit old to still be in YFG. Can't help but imagine her dream of a trip to Iraq would involve flying a jet and disposing of a few nasties. If the somewhat optimistic vision of electoral progress comes true she may in coalition with Mc Dowell and the PDs get the chance to get stuck into a few baddies up near the artificial entity which is the border.
is 25. Hardly old for a youth political group?
can only be explained by the hard times FG have had in recent years.
however with the human dynamo Enda in charge things can only get better. roll on the Commonwealth.
Whats the difference between John Carroll and the American administration?

YFG Autonomy
By Matthew Bruton
Much has been made of our autonomy and how great we are to have it while others do not. But it is my belief that it is in fact doing more harm than good and we should in fact try to change it.
...
Most people outside Fine Gael do not see a difference between Young Fine Gael and the senior party, especially the older generation. And so the image that we give off reflects badly on the senior party, if it offends large sections of society.
We have to realise that politics is about all aspects and sections of society.

Rumour on the street says that Rosanna Flynn from Residents Against Racism will soon be giving a speech to Young FG.
If true, perhaps this is a good sign for YFG's 'autonomy'
inside scoop
“This month, 21st January in fact, represents the 86th Anniversary of the inaugural meeting of Dáil Eireann. It took place in the Mansion House shielded from an outside world in upheaval and trauma as the birth pains of a growing emerging new state began. It is historic fact that the true birth date of Irish democracy, as we know and love it today, can be traced to this date and this event, the realisation of Arthur Griffith’s policy of abstaining from Westminster and having a democratic Irish parliament, and not the bloody episode of 1916 or even that tragic events at Soloheadbeg that same Tuesday 21st January 1920, no matter how romanticised or even mythological these have become."
Where do these people come from? Are they ignorant of the dymamic of Irish History? King Arthur Griffith (he of the Dual Monarchy) and his abstentionist policies was irrelevant prior to 1916. The Sinn Fein that won the seats in 1918 was a completely new party formed through a series of fusions. There wouldnt have been any First Dail to meet in 1919 if it hadnt been for the events of 1916. It looks as if the junior Blueshirts now want to wash their hands of the War of Independence as well.
Any romance or mythology here is coming from FG.
The latest edition of the Informer is out!
Who proof reads this ? One minute we are told Michael Collins would 'still' be a card carrying member of Fine Gael were he still alive but in the next story readers are advised he was dead before Fine Gael was founded. Some confusion surely.
Collins is nonetheless claimed by YFG as one of their own, though topping Henry Wilson seems to be frowned upon. To the best of my knowledge Collins saw the execution of Wilson as being totally justified and as far as I am aware never changed his position. Hard to imagine therefore Collins being seen as fit to serve in Government if still alive . Just as well then FG and 'Interesting Enda' have no chance of seizing power as otherwise YFG might have to dump the Collins worship act.
