Sounds like these idiot stooges of the Ugandan government were *smoking the dry banana leaves.
Geldof is right. Tell them where to shove it.
who does that brit ass kissing stooge geldof think he is telling those people how to run their own country ? the arrogance of the prat !!!
Tony Blairs going for a third term, whats Geldofs problem ? I really REALLY hope he goes to that country and tries to have an open air concert. Hopefully hed be pelted with something more than dried bananas by the citizens whose country and sovereignty he derisively insulted.

What is it with Irish pop 'stars'? Are they all on some fame induced god trip? Who the fcuk do they think they are?
If sport shouldnt interfere with politics should self promoting, media whores. Should inane - or is it vacuous(?) pop singists be going round telling people how to run their own affairs? This is cultural fascism.
Tosser.
Although I normally have very little time for pop-stars, this is a little bit different from Bono's style. Bono would never say anything that pissed off somebody with a bit of power. Geldof is right here. Musevini is a thug and a tyrant. The protests against Bob were undoubtedly organised by some of the government's informal militias. It is also particularly unusal to see this criticism when Musevini is one of the darlings of the US/UK and WB/IMF in Africa. Geldof, like anybody else, has the right to give his opinion on the Ugandan government and in this case it would be a pretty popular opinion among the Ugandan population.
There are at least 3 rebel armies active in Uganda and the security services are well known to carry out many massacres of their citizenship. The Ugandan army is also involved in wars in Southern Sudan and Eastern Congo, where it acts as a proxy of the US/UK governments. Musevini's own family is closely linked with the British military, in 2001 his son graduated from Sandhurst and Uganda is one of the places where Sandhurst students go on their training.
where students went and said they don't want the tyrant to pass a bill allowing him to stand a third time.
Chekhov is right, and so too is Geldof on this one.
add Uganda to your "africa studies list".
don't let the minister deport anyone to Uganda.
