Is the 'Muslim vote' set to abandon Labour? With three quarters of British Muslims refusing to believe Hamas committed atrocities on October 7th, it's hard to see how Labour can retain them, says Frank Haviland.

With swivel-eyed zeal, Ed Miliband has been telling broadcasters he has a "mandate" to deliver his unworkable and unaffordable Net Zero agenda. Not when just 20% of the public voted for you, says Ben Pile.

Video: ‘ Nigerian Travels’

category international | racism & migration related issues | opinion/analysis author Saturday April 02, 2005 09:36author by Audio Head Report this post to the editors

‘ Nigerian Travels’

This video contains footage of Nigerian life such as a traditional marriage, Lagos street culture, tribal village gatherings, beach life, and birthday parties.

Hopefully this video will serve to break down barriers and misconceptions about Nigerian culture. It provides the viewer with the opportunity and space to consider an alternative side to the mainstream media’s coverage of this country.

Video was shot by Eddie The Rocket at various locations throughout Nigeria in the summer of 2004.

Thanx for being pointman and bringing us this footage, Eddie. Loox like there's a big gap there to bridge -- and the first step is simply to see how people live in places like Lagos and Nigeria and Afrika. But it gets harder from there, I'm sure. ;> Clearly, more westerners should be coming to work and party with these people -- and tourism ain't gonna cover that angle at all... So since nigerian labor unions and peoples are struggling so hard daily against a hostile regime -- it;s obvious that we should be working to get more western unionists into Nigeria and West Afrika, to at the very least demonstrate our international solidarity with their struggles. And then maybe nigerians won't be as stand-offish as they seem to often be in the video. ;>

Very impressive, music is excellent!

This video should be mandatory viewing for those who would arbitrarily portray this country as a cess-pit of misery for their own purposes.

I hope the video investigates whether Nigeria really is a country that persecutes so many of its people. If so, the Irish government should take them to task for this.
