Here Is a Translation. (Thanks to various who helped sort this) Several environmentalist organizations and Sinn Fein call for an Irish boycott of Statoil and Shell after controversy about a natural gas project. Statoil leads the Irish market with its 300 gas stations.

Pipeline protesters seek picket of Statoil stations
Last updated: 21-07-05, 16:11

The five Mayo men jailed for their protests against the proposed pipeline from the Corrib gas field have called for a picket of Statoil stations in the Dublin area tomorrow.
Statoil is a 36.5 per cent shareholder in the consortium that owns the Corrib gas field.
The protesters want Statoil to apply the same environmental and health and safety standards to the Corrib gas field as they would in Norway. All of Norway's oil and gas is processed on offshore platforms.
The Norwegian government is the majority shareholder in Statoil.
In Mayo, the Shell-led consortium plans to process the gas on-shore and pump the raw gas under high pressure through a nine-mile pipeline. Local residents stress that they are opposed to this method of refining rather than the exploitation of the gas.
Last week the protesters handed in a letter to the Norwegian embassy calling on the Norwegian government to ensure that the refining of the gas took place offshore.

is following S(Hell) Mayo story too (along with a lot of other international stories that seem to be about local people getting screwed by Big Oil in co-operation with "their" governments).
I wonder what the Iraqi people would have to say about fairness and rights to the Mayo people?
Probably not the most priority point but that photo in the Norwegian newspaper clip is from Shop Street in Galway. I think the shop Window is McCambridges isn't it?
The group are around Tommy's protest stall if I ain't wrong.
A similar photo is up elsewhere on this site.
& what a swizz, had hoped that those Statoil chappies might see some sense in what they were being asked. I guess bad business corrupts & infects eh?

Great to see details of the protest in Aftenposten, the Norwegian equivalent of the Irish times\Independent although not quite as conservative and rightwing. Should make the news I hope. Had earlier emailed the editors at indymedia on how I could bring the protest to Norwegian attention, but looks like someone has beaten me to it.
Funny that there is nothing on Indymedia.no about this or indeed any sign of interest in organising a protest.
As a paddie living in Norway I feel compelled to protest at a shell or statoil station near me, or maybe Statoil offices in Oslo, any other Irish in Norway want to join me in planning a protest somewhere? Ph or txt me on 99293097
Is mise le meas.
