INO Calls for a 35 hour working week

category national | worker & community struggles and protests | news report author Friday September 01, 2006 18:01author by Haymarket martyr Report this post to the editors

Why dont the bigger unions back this call

The INO has called for a shorter working week and they should be supported in this by the other unions and all progressive forces.

Liam Doran and the INO has called for a shorter working week and they should be supported in this by the other bigger trade unions. The media has given this some coverage but the big pro partnership trade union leaderships have remained very silent on the issue. Why dont the bigger unions back this call are they afraid that it will upset the boys in IBEC or good old Bertie? I am sure everyone on Indymedia will back the INO in their progressive demand for a 35 hour working week.

They are not supporting the 2016 pay package instituted by the Taoiseach to break the unions.

Yay for the girls). The PPP and agreed wage structures are a methodology for breaking the
unions. and like the PPP on planning they are weighted against ordinary people. the tri-partite
process is weighted to the crony/government lobby .
