offsite link Academics Sign Letter Calling for NATO to Admit Ukraine Thu Aug 01, 2024 11:00 | Noah Carl
158 academics have signed a letter calling for NATO to admit Ukraine. But they don't address the crucial question of when Ukraine should be admitted: now, or once the war is over. Neither option is straightforward.

Durty Ole DCC

category dublin | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Monday September 25, 2006 23:16author by Che - CFSD Report this post to the editors

DCC are maneuvering fast to maintain the poster ban, the one that hasn't been lifted, despite a vote from the Council demanding that it be lifted.

We have recently learned that the Waste Management Department of DCC (Dublin City Council) intend to put a motion forward to ban the posting of Public Notices from the entire city.

This motion isn't high enough on the list to be dealt with at next Monday’s DCC meeting, and won’t be unless the Mayor is pressured sufficiently and he puts it forward.

DCC voted earlier this year to lift the blanket ban on the Posting of Public Notices. Notwithstanding this, the Waste Management Department has consistently ignored the will of the people represented by the Council on this. Terence O’Keefe the top honcho/brother in the Law Department of DCC has yet to show or offer a legal justification for this. He will be referring to a recent study showing that Dublin City is indeed a ‘durty ole town’ to justify his latest effort to ban free speech and free association.

This news was confirmed by a source within the department.
