Trump was right to skewer Starmer over Britain's "windmills scam" when he met him in Scotland this week, says Ben Pile. It was a cringefest worthy of The Office, but Starmer can't afford to ignore the President?s warning.

Sir Keir Starmer has declared that the UK will recognise a state of Palestine in September unless Israel makes peace with Hamas, in a move critics say treats statehood as a "bargaining chip" and "rewards Hamas".

Press Release - Boycott on Brown Thomas over Fur Sales Affects Profits

Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade

(CAFT)

PRESS RELEASE-PRESS RELEASE

Re. BOYCOTT ON BT OVER FUR SALES AFFECTS PROFITS

It has been confirmed today that fur-selling department store Brown Thomas has had an 11% drop in profit this year.

But this comes as no surprise to anti-fur campaigners, the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade (CAFT), who for over a year now have had a sustained campaign against Brown Thomas.

Last year CAFT instigated a boycott of all Brown Thomas stores and have received tremendous support from the public- many of whom were horrified to learn of Brown Thomas' involvement in the fur trade and have pledged to boycott all of their stores until they adopt a fur-free policy.

Brown Thomas cannot deny that their recent drop in profits are in some way related to the anti-fur campaign against them and CAFT have now decided to increase the pressure on them with more frequent demonstrations, in the hopes of finally getting Brown Thomas to go fur-free.

Contact CAFT Press Officer.

This just goes to show what a sustained, long term campaign can do. Not just a flash in the pan - one off thing. They never achieve much. Most people are opposed to fur and this just proves it. I hope BTs profits drop another 11% next year.

I am a student, living on very modest means. I used to shop in BT for cosmetics and such and paid for it with money earned from a part-time retail job.

Due to the global campaigns on the fur issue, and to Irish groups highlighting places like BT who sell fur, I have not only stopped going to BT but would never buy anything from any shop selling fur or fur trim.

I have also told friends and family about BT and other shops and they have stopped going there. I am far from rich and were I based in Dublin I would definately be protesting along with CAFT every week! So no, just because you go to BT doesn't mean you are a version of Pink's "Stupid Girl"!

So, CAFT, keep up the good work because it DOES make a difference. Us not so stupid girls need people like you to highlight what goes on behind our backs so we can stop unwittingly supporting it. (We don't need any pictures either, we know how to read.)

To Sabwatch and other dissuaders, please stop making ridiculous assumptions about people you obviously know nothing about.
