**Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Creating a Caring Economy**

Since 2002 the Strike has been working with the Venezuelan revolution, highlighting women's contribution and leadership, and disseminating what grassroots self-activity is winning for all of us. The Global Women’s Strike has organised for Venezuelans to tour the US and Europe, produced films, books and pamphlets, drafted parliamentary motions and speeches, reported back from solidarity events in Venezuela and were international observers in the 2004 presidential referendum. Maggie Ronayne of the GWS and the National University of Ireland, Galway has nominated President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías for an honorary doctorate at NUI Galway.

Publications (English & Spanish) include: Trade Unions, the US State Department and Venezuela (2003); Creating a Caring Economy: Nora Castañeda and the Women’s Development Bank of Venezuela (2006). Films: Venezuela: A 21st Century Revolution (2003); Enter the Oil Workers (2004); Talking of Power (2005); Journey with the Revolution (2006).

The excitement of the revolution is contagious. If you want to find out what a revolution is, this is the film for you.

The Global Women's Strike invites you to an inspiring exhibition of 30 beautiful colour photos with captions by and about the lives of women participating in the Strike in many countries.

The photos range from shots of individual women’s day-to-day work to demonstrations of thousands.

The exhibition uniquely portrays the often ignored but exciting struggles and successes of grassroots women. It also includes images from our visit of 72 of us to Venezuela in January 2006.
