Interview with Fintan O' Toole, Part 1![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Discussion of the nature of corporate media Fintan O' Toole offers a detailed analysis of his percpetion of mainstream media. Several weeks ago Fintan O' Toole gave MediaBite an opportunity to discuss at length with him the way that mainstream media works and its relationship to the corporate sector. In the interview he also gives an overview of his own career in journalism and the way Irish news media have evolved over the last three decades - with particular reference to the Irish Times. As might be expected of a journalist who is generally regarded as 'left wing' , O' Toole is obviously very much aware of the factors influencing journalists within the MSM though it is interesting to hear his views on how journalists can, as he sees it, make a significant difference, nevertheless. |
