Hi,
Have you nothing better to do with your Sunday.
I have been to Duffy's Circus and it was excellent and was enjoyed by all.
While their I did not see any cruelty to the Animals and they seemed well cared for.

I am against cruelty to animals, but I honestly can't see anything wrong with a circus. Surely training
animals to entertain a family audience isn't anywhere near battery farmery or animal experiments in terms of cruelty? And if the animals are treated well in the circus, what's ther
problem?

For more information on what is wrong with circuses please visit

That is without the fact that humans make a choice to be part of a circus and animals do not and the I saw no cruelty is the most niave comment of all as they are hardly going to display cruelty to animlas now are they?
You dont see lots of cruelty to animlas but it happens all the time.
Educate yourselves people.
Animal circuses are for people who are easily amused.
What could be better than spending a day protesting outside a circus and speaking out for the poor slaves inside the big tent? That is my idea of a great day and I couldnt think of anything better to do.

So what do you suggest is done with animals that are presently in the circus? They would not survive in the wild, they'd go crazy in a safari park or zoo, so what do you suggest is done with them?

Are you a qualified animal behaviourist?? - Animals perform stupid tricks for brainless indivduals like you usually out of fear of physical violence. Ever wondered why trainers have whips, ropes and other weapons on their person during performances, if the animals are so content would these implements be neccesary?? Wake up man!!!

While these animals could not be released into the wild they would certainly have a much better quality of like in a well run zoo or safari park with plenty of room to roam and free from physical violence and constant intimidation, there are many examples world-wide of animals that have been freed from circus's and labs who have gone on to have much happier and fulfilled lives in such places

It must be great for the kids while queueing on the way in not to have to wait until they are inside before seeing a bunch of clowns.

I haven't been to a circus in years but reading this thread reminded me of all the fun times that i had there. With the good weather this summer i really have to go again.

Oh and unless you don't consume any animal product don't start moaning about the circus. The vegans will continue to moan but i think the majority of us are used to that and expect their moralising rubbish which is about as effective and popular as the sparts.

I'm sure there were people who felt nostalgic after cock fighting and bear baiting were banned - but like you I'd have FA sympathy for them!!

Cogar, 'Nostalgia', you have obviously never seen an elephant or any other wild animal been trained to perform these fucking stupid acts. Do you think any elephant or any other wild animal is happy to be peforming these fuckin stupid tricks willingly in a tent night after night and under threat of being whipped, and then been put back in a small cage or the back of a dark truck until the next night, just for the amusement of some dim witted parents and their kids!

Shame on all parents who bring their kids to circuses!
