Well ,Limerick is moving to Kerry North.

Our sports are tribal with The Rebel County being one that comes to mind but our constituency
boundaries are being changed and the geographers along with the Political commentators
have begun questioning the wisdoms of the Reform Commission. I have garnered Little
except that Dun Laoighre is to lose a seat and areas of Limerick will be moved into a
Kerry North Constituency, which to honest sounds confusing. There is a big constituency to be
created in the North Western Region and Leitrim is effected, according to the I.T commentator
Leitrim will not return a TD.

The EU boundary has changed too, with Mary Lou is in Doubt and Patricia Mc Kenna if
she contests again. Instead of looking at seats and numbers the Commission has
divined in its wisdom the areas - according to Newstalk 106- where many immigrants live
and reduced some seats cos people won't have a vote there anyway (!)

People most likely effected by the re-drafted boundaries:-

Ciaran Cuffe TD
Mary Lou Mac Donald.

Joe Higgins constituency has enlarged.
and I believe but am correctable that there will now be three constituencies in Dublin North
and one less in Dublin South, which should mean a migrancy of those attracted to power
before the next election (which Bertie possibly desires to be 'electronic')

the Nationals and locals will be fought in the same year(apparently) with the next locals
also in 2009. Limerick and Leitrim will have difficulties, no doubt with representation

"Deputies from all sides of this House will no doubt have views on specific recommendations
and they will have the opportunity to raise then during the debate on legislation. In the Past ,
Governments of all hues have brought forward bills to give effect to committee recommendations
without amendment and its my firm view that this practice should continue".

[John Gormley's use of Government- speak to move forward legislation on the Constituency
Reform Commission recommendations to the legislative phase without seeking consultation
on amendment= its going to debate as is. The Greens can do that now.]

The environ website has had significant re-design since Minister Roche departed, however
the same press and civil service quota remains. There has, as yet been no move by the
Department to look at the issues of Heritage protection laws which have been abolished
over a period of 9 years and replaced with fast-track planning laws. Interesting little article on
non-national roads and the left column details upcoming consultative stuff etcetera.

environ to the EU court prosecution of DOE, but it may be in the Press release section in the
right hand column on the home page.

In relation to Dublin North -C Murray - part of Dublin North around the airport and some of Swords is going into Dublin West. Portmarnock is going into Dublin NE.

and Leitrim is to be split-which IT reckons will mean no TD return for the region]
