Sean Hoey :Not Guilty

category national | crime and justice | other press author Friday December 21, 2007 13:31author by tomeile Report this post to the editors

Sean Hoey was found not guilty yesterday of involvement in the bombings which claimed twenty nine lives in Omagh on August 15, 1998. Justice Weir at Belfast Crown Court said police were guilty of a "deliberate and calculated deception" in their handling of the investigation.
Despite having been held in prison on remand for four years ,Hoey has received no apologies from the judiciary , police , politicians or press who have allowed the young electrician to be scapegoated to cover up for the role of intelligence agencies in the bombings .
Relatives of the bombing victims have vowed to continue their fight to bring the truth about what happened on that tragic afternoon to light. Justice Weir’s indictment of the police and Hoey’s acquittal square with the findings of Police Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan whose report in 2002 said that the RUC deliberately ignored crucial intelligence that, if acted upon, could have averted the tragedy.

Over decades of cold-blooded murder the Provisional Irish Republican Army blew hundreds of completely innocent men women and children to pieces.
This utterly cowardly evil psychopathic campaign was justified by Messers Adams, McGuinness and co. for thirty years.

In their sick morally diseased universe indiscriminate murders of Catholics by equally evil psychopathic loyalist butchers and cold-hearted British security forces supposedly justified the slaughter of innocent Protestants in return.

The RIRA bombing in Omagh was merely the continuation of the "armed struggle."

Adams, McGuinness and their Murder Inc. private army realised far too late that their dreams of terrorising the people of people Ireland into submission was not working and finally chose the democratic route.

The code of omerta among the Republican community that protected killers for thirty years is still shielding the Omagh bombers from justice.

I don't blame the police - I blame the insidious evil ideology of fanaticism and hatred that still grips the republican community.

From 1916 to 1998 was a cycle of blood letting and murder that achieve absolutely nothing but the political, civil and religious division and degeneration of our nation north and south.

Unfortunately the lessons have fallen on deaf ears.

The disgusting spectacle that was the Love Ulster rally in Dublin shows that a fascist murderous hatred still exists in Republicanism.

The evil that is Paiselyism and extremist Loyalist Protestant sectarianism has its equal in the Republican movement.

The sooner both are thrown on the ash heap of history the better!

What makes it all the more nauseating is the established fact that both the Provisional IRA and the Loyalist paramilitaries were infiltrated right to leadership level by British Intelligence. Even the person in charge of the IRAs internal security was himself an informer.
This begs the question who was controlling the course of the war if the British were aware of what was going on inside both the IRA and the Loyalist paramilitary organizations?
Martin McGuinness has the gall to recently accuse the Dissidents of being controlled by British Intelligence when his own organization was similarly infiltrated.
Then again thats politics, the innocent suffer while the guilty prospers and truth doesn't come into it.

Well said Sickened.
It stuck in my throat when Hoey's mother said that him being released for christmas was the best present for his two wee children waiting on their father at home. At least Hoey's kids had a chance to be born and taste life. More than can be said for the two unborn children he helped kill.

Its absolutely pathetic when these RIRA psychphants blame the Brits, the Cops and everybody else for the attrocity, but not actually the scumbags who actually planted the bomb. How fucked up is that?

My heart goes out to the victims and their famalies who see the murdering scum who carried out the Omagh bombing still walking around free, knowing that the incompetence of the so called forces of law and order have kept them there. They would have been better taking the money that was spent on all the legal bollocks and instead paid a team of hitmen to carry out justice instead. Still, not too late. If the want to start a collection I know I'd be happy to make a contribution.....

“It stuck in my throat when Hoey's mother said that him being released for christmas was the best present for his two wee children waiting on their father at home.”

Dear God, it stuck in your throat that an innocent man was released and that his mother was happy about it.

Did the release of the Birmingham six cause you similar offence?

“At least Hoey's kids had a chance to be born and taste life. More than can be said for the two unborn children he helped kill.”

This emotive drivel shouldn’t even be allowed in type. Hoey was set up. He wasn’t involved in the bombing, he didn’t kill anybody. Your indignation is unwarranted and aimed in completely the wrong direction. You haven’t been keeping up with events of late have you?

As sickened2 has already told you and has the British knew this bomb was being planned. They allowed it to detonate and they created the confusion which helped to increase the numbers killed.

Their hands are covered in the blood of the innocent just as those who planted the bomb. Hoey isn’t one of them, no matter how much you might wish he was. As such his release is to be welcomed.

British intelligence and the RUC were trying desperately to infiltrate the RIRA and stop their attacks - Omagh was just one of a handful of bombings across Northern Ireland during 1998.

The RIRA claimed that the bomb was planted at the courthouse.
It has been speculated that the bomber or bombers who were delivering the bomb laden car found that the heavy traffic due to the festival in Omagh held them up and they callously parked the bomb on Market St and hurriedly left leaving the people of the town to their fate.

The responsibility for the massacre of innocent people lays wholly with the RIRA.

The terrorst murderers sought and still seek to terrorise the people of Northern and Southern Ireland to submit to tyranny, to overthrow democracy and reignite sectarian bloodletting.

LK whoever you are, you are a dispicable coward, a wretch, a piece of vermin and if there is a hell you and all whom you represent deserve the hottest region to reside in for all eternity.

The framing of Hoey was ultimately going to do more damage to the credibility of the security and police forces in the North - somebody has obviously decided to shut the whole farce down before they were all revealed to have their backsides well out in the open. The victims of Omagh, which includes Hoey and his family, are better served by this verdict though its atrocious they have had to go through so many years of pointless, needless anguish.

The RIRA planted the bomb and murdered the innocent.
The families of the Omagh murdered are the victims.

The RIRA deliberately planted the bomb knowing full well that innocent people were going to die if it exploded.

The Sean Hoey case and other cases have ultimately collapsed because republicans failed to testify to secure convictions.

The republican community is shield these murderers from justice.

author by LKpublication date Sat Dec 22, 2007 14:43author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Lets re-clarify these things shall we.

“The RIRA planted the bomb and murdered the innocent.”

With the full knowledge of the British intelligence services. They had the power to stop it, they didn’t. They are just as culpable as those who physically planted the bomb.

“The families of the Omagh murdered are the victims.”

I have not seen a post here that disputes this fact. That said I very much doubt that you are speaking on their behalf. Anyone who is treated injusticely arising from wrongful convictions is also a victim. Hoey is innocent.

“The RIRA deliberately planted the bomb knowing full well that innocent people were going to die if it exploded.”

Now you’re speaking on behalf of the RIRA? Throughout the troubles many many bombs where planted and an appalling number of innocent lives where lost. That does not justify the conviction of innocent people to portray a semblance of swift justice. Nor does that console the victims.

“The Sean Hoey case and other cases have ultimately collapsed because republicans failed to testify to secure convictions.”

Rubbish. It collapsed because the forensic evidence used to frame him was exposed as shoddy and wholly unreliable by a British Court.

“The republican community is shielding these murderers from justice.”

More rubbish. The ‘Republican Community’ as you put it where as equally repulsed by the carnage as anyone else. The RIRA are dissidents. They want nothing to do with the GFA nor the new executive and are/where actively trying to derail it and still claim to be the legitimate heirs of republicanism as handed down by Pearse and Connolly. They are a thorn in the side of the decommissioned provisional wing of the IRA and Adams/McGuinness who I have no doubt seek convictions for Omagh as much as anybody.
Everyone across the political spectrum in the 6 counties recognize this and only the most narrow minded of Loyalist bigots would smear an entire community with Omagh.

You have no interest in Justice for Omagh. You are scapegoating republicans and manipulating the real suffering of the victims for your own political agenda. Now that is truly sickening.
