Until this week, Keir Starmer told us the criminal justice system is at capacity, says Laurie Wastell. Turns out, we can clamp down on crime and disorder just as long as the target is the reviled white working class.

The Case against the Lisbon Treaty

category cork | eu | event notice author Saturday February 02, 2008 21:49author by Joe Mooreauthor email mapuche at eircom dot netauthor phone 087-2994796 Report this post to the editors

Public Meeting, Cork Saturday February 16th.

A monster public meeting to put the case against the Lisbon Treaty to the people of Cork, will be held on Saturday 16th February at 2.30pm in the Victoria Hotel, Patrick St.

The meeting will be addressed by,
Cllr. Mick Barry, Socialist Party.
John Bowen, Workers Party.
Ger Cassidy, People before Profit.
Cllr. David Cullinane, SinnFein.
Frank Keoghan, People's Movement.
Patricia McKenna, People's Movement.
Noel Murphy, Independent Worker's Union.

The people of Ireland are the only people who will have the opportunity to vote on the Lisbon Treaty. It is important that we use the forthcoming referendum to send a message to the ruling elite that we oppose their vision of a neo-liberal, militarised Europe.
This meeting will present a unique opportunity for the people of Cork to hear the arguments against the Treaty.

The meeting will begin at 2.30pm sharp in the Victoria Hotel, Patrick Street.
All are welcome.
