National - Event Notice Thursday January 01 1970 March for a Decent Public Health Service![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() DCTU Campaign for a Decent Public Health Service Dublin Council of Trade Unions March ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dublin Council of Trade Unions ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Workers Solidarity Movement are producing 10,000 of the leaflet attached to promote the march on 29th March and to encourage people to attend.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I presume the original author has mixed up the dates and it is Saturday 29th not Friday 28th ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Very presumptuous; it was the gremlins what did it. Thanks to the collective for the prompt correction ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Speakers at the march, not necessarily in this order, are: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The SWP, WSM and SP were all leafleting seperately today at the GPO for this demo. This is quite unique and great to see. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The march will assemble from 2.30 pm at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Square. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Children need atttention presently but there are no units of care, other than adult. This is highly unsatisfactory. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The pharmacists are postering outside their shops nationwide, saying that the HSE are attacking the ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm probably a bit late getting this up, but here's a flyer for the Campaign for a Decent Public Health Service that someone might be interested in printing/distributing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A Green and white sticker has been placed over the date and venue on a lot of the posters in Dublin city centre area. Sticker is quite professional and reads : Time now Ladies and Gents please, over figures sitting around a table, under this reads : Dissolve the Army Council We can guess the AC meaning, but any clues as to the defacers ? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks JK for bringing that up. I meant to do so. If you read Indymedia, would the sticker stickers, who are covering up the details of the march on some (e.g. Labour Party ! posters) please think about what you are doing? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Dissolve the Army Council" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If anyone is interested some of us in the WSM were thinking that an Anarchist block on the health march on saturday would be a good idea. So bring your flags banners etc and yourself to the garden of Remberance at 2-30. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1.Poll on breakingnews.ie: 'Can the Health protest achieve anything?' ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Brenda Power of Newstalk 106" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hi ! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There are a number of very interesting points made in another thread on this march which people seem to have missed ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The march, like the public meeting on the 11th February, originated with the DCTU and the youth committee of ICTU. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ALL OUT tommorrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This man has asked Bertie to make a statement on Mahon, in so doing he has stood ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The message - that the public needs and wants a better health service - is already well known. There isnt a country in the world that doesnt demand this. The Government has shown that it can ignore a march of 100,000 people quite easily and win an election (or two). Even if say, 20,000 people came out on this protest, Mary Harney can easily say that efforts are being made to improve the health system, say for example with the consultants negotiations - never was there a more prime example of a group of "workers" exhibiting nothing but naked greed - when exactly does €200k a year not become enough to live on? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The rain stayed off and there were loads of people, I wish more had joined from the ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() .... from the 'Health Protest' event held on Saturday 29 March 2008 in Dublin can be viewed here - |

Coolio! Beneath us to it again!
Beaten us to it, rather. (Freudian slip)
HELLO FRIENDS
why do you not plan the march for easter monday ,
and demand what was read out in the proclamation to the irish people 92 years ago at the gpo,
a right to proper health care for all rich or poor.
and pay respects to the men who died for what they taught they should have achived by their actions.
Load it down and get it up. (Not on lamposts etc. till a week before 29th).
