Jump To Comment: 1I am no admirer of Peter Mandelson but I can't understand why the farmers are presonalising their attacks on Mandelson alone. The proposed Mandelson / WTO deal is not just something he is foising on the EU. The EU commission is fully behind him, including Ireland's commissioner Charlie McCreevy (whoever he represents it is not the interests of the Irish people).
It is an EU deal, not just a Mandelson one. It is supported by our government in that there hasn't been any real opposition to it from Ahern, Cowen and the rest of them. So why not target the EU as a whole instead of personalising their attacks on Mandelson. Will he be the fall-guy and then they call all come in behind the LisbonTreaty as if nothing ever happened?
