2008 Annual Conference of the Community Programme to Combat Discrimination

it looks like the usual ineffectual NGOish EU nonsense - but someone should go and see whats up...

Communicating equality and non-discrimination in the European Union (2008 Annual Conference of the Community Programme to Combat Discrimination)

The upcoming European annual thematic conference on anti-discrimination is due to take place in Belfast on the 5-6 June 2008.

The conference, organised by the European Commission, will be dedicated to the theme of communication and awareness-raising in the anti-discrimination and equality field. It will bring together the current national projects on awareness-raising and successful projects from the 2007 European Year of Equal Opportunities for All, as well as other stakeholders. It will allow the project promoters to meet and to share with a wider audience their experience and ideas and to receive information about on-going developments in EU equality policies.

The conference will be an opportunity to discuss how best to promote messages of equality and diversity to various stakeholders, through various means. It will also offer training sessions on a number of communication topics. Members of the Commission's finance team will also be present to answer any questions you have on the financial side of the project and/or on reporting requirements.

Preliminary details of the conference programme are now available online and will be updated regularly as the conference date approaches.
