Neutrality doesn't exist in an age of shannon airport.
Why is it that some elements of the left continue to trundle out old left-nationalist arguments against the EU? The EU should be damned because it serves the interests of capital not because it offends nationalist myths about Irish 'soverignty'. Hocus pocus.
Good to see there's no refs to soveirgnity, neutrality or any of the other non-arguments that some of the nationalist-left are blethering on about.
So we can take it from this that the ISN are economist or gas-and-water socialists?
Fair play to Culchie. At least he's being honest. More of that type of honesty from the Yes side and we'll hammer them into next year come June 12th!
The only reason that the EU can be said to be 'a failed entity' is that it has no teeth and that surely is what the Lisbon Treaty is about.
A YES vote from Ireland will give the EU all the power that it needs to weild and govern a European super state equal to that of the USA.
Long Live the EU !
Good to see there's no refs to soveirgnity, neutrality or any of the other non-arguments that some of the nationalist-left are blethering on about. And there's no talk of fighting for a 'better' and 'more democratic' EU. Good. The reasons for voting No revolve around neoliberalism, privatization and miltarism. Those are reasons enough. The EU itself is a failed political entity.
And there's a review of a recently published history of the Irish Labour Party.
