Keir Starmer?s Anti-Israel Policies Are Now No Different to Jeremy Corbyn?s Tue Jul 30, 2024 13:00 | Will Jones
Unlike Jeremy Corbyn, Keir Starmer has never described Hezbollah as his friends. But other than that, when it comes to Israel there is now little of consequence to differentiate them, says Stephen Pollard.

Is the Muslim Vote Abandoning Labour? Tue Jul 30, 2024 11:00 | Frank Haviland
Is the 'Muslim vote' set to abandon Labour? With three quarters of British Muslims refusing to believe Hamas committed atrocities on October 7th, it's hard to see how Labour can retain them, says Frank Haviland.

good to see these, though they seem mostly big marketing adverts for anarchism what with the big circled A an' all (which most people, btw, will be totally clueless about re its meaning).
You also need to put a space between 'no' and 'lisbon'. And, incidentally, there's actually nothing wrong with Lisbon itself. It's a great city with wonderful weather! You might have added the word 'treaty'.
Anyway, them caveats aside, well done!
And pace your report, IBEC is the BIG business organisation not the one for the smaller businesses which is ISME
Fair play to them comin out with them posters and urgin people to vote no. Thats actually a big thing for anarchists who are usually , rightfully so, critical of any elections.
Well, it's no surprise. Anarchists have no problem with voting. It the way you measure how many are in favour of something and how many are against. We vote in our anarchist organisations, trade unions, community groups; and in referenda.
What we don't do is choose between rulers (e.g. Dail elections), Afterall, anarchists want a society where the division of people into bosses and workers, rulers and ruled, is ended. So, our abstention is pretty ABC, you might as well ask a teetotaller if she wants a pint of Guinness or one of Beamish. There is an interview with the WSM about how they see it at www.wsm.ie/story/1772
Keep up the good work. Great to see the truth being told.
Moaner... You might be a moaner but you're a fair man or woman to spot an error. Sorry about that IBEC/ISME stuff. I'm afraid I had a run in with one of the latter - a small business I mean - a short while before I put up the report and it con-fuddled my mind. The other matter you were moaning about .... well we are blaming the printer for that. And I've forgotton the other thing you were moaning about ...
This you see this on You Tube..

Interesting to see Youth Defence/Mother & Child Campaign/Justin Barrett & Co. have come up with a new name to work under, Coír, the organisation that produced that You Tube video linked to above. More here: http://www.lisbonvote.com/
To really help the NO Vote ,the anarchists would do better to put up VOTE YES posters over their name.
Etienne Chouard, a nonparty blogger and anti-EU constitution activist who teaches at a lycee in Marseille, is interviewed by the left-leaning magazine Marianne. About the Lisbon treaty debate in Ireland he says:-
[He doesn't think the Irish will vote No because they've been browbeaten by the Yes-supporting media, which have stigmatised the No campaigners as appendages of the extreme right.]

In case you don't read French here's something about him in English:
http://erc2.org/109.0.html
Etienne Chouard is not an expert,
He does not seem to have any qualifications in this field -
There is a plethora of such people, mostly based in Brussels and Paris,
ready to comment at the drop of a hat to the nearest TV camera,
We had a few of them on RTE TV the other night who gave their verdict that Ireland will be thrown out of the EU if we vote no.
Who were they - three nonentities building themselves up for consideration as lobbyists by the Brussels/Paris/Strasbourg axis, that's who,
Saying all the things that Brussels bureaucrats want them to say.
An unqualified expert is a dangerous person,
This is why judges here disallow them to testify as "expert witnesses" in court.
"All the Lovely People where do they all come from ? "
The website you quote does, however, appear to be expert, in fact it should be publicised more to the Irish Voter.
I merely seek to point out that the worst person one can listen to is a self-appointed expert. To my mind a person is expert in a field when everybody says he/she is expert and he/she never claims to be.
Also, a professorial level is required.
Primary school teachers in France and elsewhere in Europe are referred to a Professors !!!
I have a friend, Professor Michel Raoult, in Brittany. He is a Professor because he was a Primary School teacher in his time.
And we all know from watching the proceedings of the Dail and Seanad how utterly stupid Primary School teachers can be.
Chouard is also described as a 'philosophe' i.e. he has studied for a philosophy degree in France. Such people are accorded an intellectual status in french culture, possibly too much in some cases as some philosophers wouldn't know how to boil an egg for three minutes so it doesn't taste overboiled. Chouard however has studied the Lisbon documents carefully, which can't be said for 99.99 per cent of us, including Biffo Cowen. So Chouard has acquired expertese in the details of these documents and can comment with familiarity on their effects on laws and things. You acquire expertese in a topic by sweating over it.
About the term 'professeur' as used in France, redneck. This is a general word for schoolteachers and doesn't mean they are brain surgeons or wouldbe Einsteins.
In my own case I'm a teacher and did French as a school subject like thousands of other Irish students. I know just enough of the lingo to know that Chouard is on the No side and we should welcome his sentiments. I like Europe but not the EU, a largely unaccountable entity. Vive Chouard et vive la France. Votez Non!
Hey Pierre, you might like to know that in good ole Espana they're showing support for a No vote. Here's a British MEP who noticed a silent vigil outside the Irish embassy in Madrid:
" Passing the Irish embassy last night, I happened across a group of young Spaniards holding a decorous and polite vigil in support of a “No” vote in the coming referendum. “On 12 June, we are all Irish,” read their banners. “Vote for the peoples of Europe, not the elites”. Apparently, this is happening all over the Continent, although the phenomenon is almost wholly unreported. Groups of ordinary citizens are picketing their local Irish legations to say, in effect: “We are not being allowed a vote. Please vote ‘No’ on our behalf”."

Ole ole ole for the Spaniards I say. The Spanish for No is No, isn't it? Viva Espana!
