Is the 'Muslim vote' set to abandon Labour? With three quarters of British Muslims refusing to believe Hamas committed atrocities on October 7th, it's hard to see how Labour can retain them, says Frank Haviland.

With swivel-eyed zeal, Ed Miliband has been telling broadcasters he has a "mandate" to deliver his unworkable and unaffordable Net Zero agenda. Not when just 20% of the public voted for you, says Ben Pile.

Photos of the Solitaire in Scots Waters

category international | environment | news report author Sunday September 21, 2008 13:11author by CH - Indymedia Scotland Report this post to the editors

Following a request from Shell to Sea, people on the West Coast of Scotland were trying to track the pipe-laying ship Solitaire. Photos confirm that the boat is where it was reported to be.

After a crash course in Scotland's marine infrastructure following the news that the MV Solitaire was leaving Ireland on Friday, activists managed to confirm the ship's location on Friday evening. On Saturday, these photographs were taken showing the Solitaire approximately 3 km west of Largs, the same location as reported on the ship traffic website (http://aisliverpool.co.uk/showship.php?mmsi=351597000).
While the photos were being taken, the boat was joined by what looked like tugs, leading to speculation that it was to move that night. This doesn't appear to have occurred. A slightly antsy police presence was also noted, on the coast and with a helicopter.
The photos have been cropped and sharpened; if people need high resolution originals they should contact IMC Scotland.

Can anyone confirm if the Havila Favour is a support vessel for the Solitaire? It followed the Solitaire up the Firth of Clyde and now appears to be heading for the west of Ireland. Could it be collecting the retrieved stinger?
