Ógra Shinn Féin got active across Ireland in the past weekend to demand the immediate release of IRA Prisoners of War, some of whom qualify under the terms of the GFA for release and all because the leadership of Óglaidh na hÉireann formally called an end to their armed campaign over 3 years ago.

Leaflet drops, postering, information stalls, protests, vigils and public talks where organised throughout the 32 counties and the weekend of action was also used to highlight the plight of international prisoners in the Basque Country, Leonard Peltier, Miami 5 and Pól Brennan, who is currently fighting deportion from the US.

Other actions have taken place througout December, and more are scheduled to take place before Christmas.

Derry 4 trial collapses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the Special Criminal Court in Dublin, the prosecution said on Friday that they were no longer proceeding with the case.

excellent news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

protests and pressure to release republican prisoners, works in 2008 and will continue as long as republicans are imprisoned!

Does this protest include calling for realease of all replublican pows or just those who took the queens shilling?
Sad that the provos accept the time honoured brit tradition of divide and conquer.
Its fine if they want to call it a day and try peaceful means but does this mean they should become west brits at the same time? They could at the least ignore the other republicans who refuse to administer brit rule in Eire and simply leave them to wage their battle in what ever way they want.....

didnt see any signs to release the derry 4?

Surely all these people are now british government personel seeing as their leaders are british administraitors. Are they imprisoned under british army rules? Are the killers of republican Joe O'Connor among them ? If released will they then call upon republicans to work with the RUC and british occupiers? Will they join the policing boards and become the newest version of the Broy Harriers.? Release the POWs, Join the RUC!!!
