Collaborative art project with the ICTU

What do Little Red Riding Hood, a Polish miner and an earthquake have in common? They’re all part of an unusual new exhibition of Polish art coming to leading Belfast gallery, the Golden Thread. Expect to see colourful and challenging exhibits exploring the politics of the absurd …

Don’t miss our Polish Cultural evening on Friday 22nd May (6-8pm), featuring artwork, music, good food and drink!

Agent Absurd will also a Migrant Workers Festival including readings, panel discussions, workshops and migrant workers advice clinics. This is a chance for local people to celebrate the contribution of ethnic minority communities to the cultural and economic life of Northern Ireland.

Programme of events:

Agent Absurd exhibition launch / reception 6-8pm: Friday 1st May

ICTU Migrant Workers Banner launched at the Mayday Rally on 2nd May. Banner was designed by Kameleon Polish Youth Group, Belfast City Council Youth Forum and artists from the Golden Thread Gallery.

Belching out the Devil – reading by Mark Thomas, comedian and political activist, 8pm Thursday 7th May. Part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, see www.cqaf.com. Tickets £5.

Panel Discussion: Perceptions of ‘The Other’, 7pm Thursday, 14th May.

Employment & Welfare Advice Clinic for Migrant Workers, 6-8pm on Friday 15th May
