Trump's executive order on 'Restoring Gold Standard Science' is overdue, says Dr Tilak Doshi. For too long in climate, medicine and other areas, captured regulators have put vested interests above the public interest.

Faoi Act 1737 um Riar na Córa (Teanga)(Éireann) tá cosc iomlán go fóill ar úsáid na Gaeilge sna cúirteanna ó thuaidh. I mí Iúil 2009, chuaigh na Gaeil chuig an Ard-Chúirt le dúshlán a chur roimh an sean dlí seo ach theip ar an chás. Beidh seans ag daoine cluinstin faoin chás agus na chéad chéimeanna eile. Le tacú leis an ócáid mar aoíchainteoir speisialta ar an chóras cúirte i gCeanada, beidh Coimisinéir Ceanadach na dTeangacha Oifigiúla, An tUas. Graham Fraser.

Tá clú agus meas ar Graham Fraser, Coimisinéir Ceanadach na dTeangacha Oifigiúla, mar iriseoir agus údar a bhfuil tuairim is daichead bliain de thaithí iriseoireachta aige.

Mar Choimisinéir Teanga, is oifigeach Pharlaimint Cheanada é a bhfuil dualgais éagsúla air le spriocanna reachtaíocht teanga Cheanada, Acht na dTeangacha Oifigiúla, a chur chun cinn agus a bhaint amach. Áirithíonn cuid de na dualgais seo go gcloíonn forais fheidearálacha leis an Acht, ag seasamh le cearta teanga na gCeanadach agus ag cur chun cinn dúbailteacht teanga agus dátheangachais. Le linn slí bheatha fhada agus an-dearscnaithí a thrasnaigh easaontas teanga Cheanada, thuairiscigh an t-Uas.

Fraser, sa Fhraincis agus sa Bhéarla, ar eisiúintí a théann i bhfeidhm ar Cheanada agus ar Cheanadaigh a chuimsíonn beartas eachtrach agus cultúir; díospóireachtaí agus idirbheartaíochtaí bunreachtúla; agus polaitíocht chúigeach, náisiúnta agus idirnáisiúnta.
