Jump To Comment: 1I am very pleased that Dr. Yates has decided to do a podcast! As an advocate for veganism I am quite often mystified by peoples reaction to the mere concept of living without the exploitation all other sentient beings on the planet for our own uses, especially since absolutely none of it is necessary for our survival, and is in fact hastening our demise but even more unforgivably the demise of all other life on the planet. I remember I used to think it was perfectly normal too, but now that I have seen with open eyes our shameful legacy, and am keen to share this information, I often find myself surprised that everyone I talk to doesn't immediately jump on board, and In fact can be very resistant and even openly hostile to the idea. "WHY?" I cry. Well, normally if I want to know why, I ask Dr. Yates. He helps me understand! He is a wealth of knowledge, USEFUL knowledge, about socialisation, societal norms, mindsets, (all many other complicated things that are so high-falutin I can't quote them and will just stop there) that contribute to this behaviour. The great thing about Dr. Yates is he can disseminate this information so that even someone like myself, with absolutely no background or understanding whatsoever of sociology and human behaviour can understand these important concepts. We will all benefit from his insight, experience and knowledge, and I urge everyone who takes animal rights seriously enough to actually want to talk to the stubborn rest of society to LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST. Do it for us and do it for the non-human animals. Thank you Dr. Yates!
