Ofgem has been caught using the climate Armageddon 'worst case scenario' RCP8.5 as the basis for its energy planning. This is a scenario so ludicrous even the Biden administration abandoned it, says Nick Rendell.

From Covid lockdowns to Net Zero, there's nothing noble about the lies we're told, says Professor James Alexander. It's fashionable to blame Plato for the state of modern society, but the charge won't stick.

News from down the country

category national | environment | news report author Saturday December 12, 2009 12:18author by Contaminated Crow Report this post to the editors

A mast, a quarry, a compost facility and oil exploration off Clare

A spokesperson for 120 residents who are within one kilometre of a proposed mast in Drumfries, Co. Donegal, has said 'We will resist them every step of the way', while calling on Donegal County Council to 'revoke this unlawful planning decision immediately' and on Tetra to 'withdraw from the highly controversial site'. (Derry Journal 4/12/09, p. 3).

An Bord Pleanala has overturned the granting of planning permission to Goode Concrete Ltd. for an extension to a sand and gravel quarry at Ford de Fyne, near Clonalvey, Co. Meath, following appeals by local residents. (Meath Chronicle 5/12/09, p. 8).

Clare county counillors were invited to attend a meeting called by Foynes and District Community Council regarding a composting facility in Foynes, Co. Limerick, which An Bord Pleanala has permitted, but the meeting was cancelled due to a local tragedy. (Clare Champion 4/12/09, p. 5).

Around 40 people attended the official launch of Gort Shell to Sea last week at which Maura Harrington warned Clare might face problems similar to those at Rossport, Co. Mayo, resulting from exploration activities by Providence Resources off the west coast of Clare. To contact the group ring 087-2031764 or email shelltoseagort@gmail.com. (Clare People 1/12/09, p. 26).

Apologies for the late arrival of last week's news but the Crow is moving down the country and finding it difficult to get a landline, much less a net connection. This week's news from down the country will probably be put up on Monday or Tuesday.

No need to apologise Mr Crow. I hope the move does not effect your post's here on Indy. You do a great job informing us on important issues from down the country. I usually forward your post to friends who are delighted to recieve them and read about the latest assualts on our local environment and also the out come of planning decisions. The work you do is so important, I hope you can continue. Good luck with your move down the country. Slan.

Fianna Fail or developer friends are they? :-)

Joking aside, Crow, we all appreciate your reports. Good luck with the move and Keep up the good work! If you can't get a landline then 3 do a wireless internet deal you should check out. It might do the trick

Thanks for the kind words but regrettably the move down the country will make it impossible to continue the weekly news from down the country as you have to be in Dublin to get access to all the printed local/provincial papers, though I do hope to be able to manage maybe one week per month. If anyone is interested in taking over, it's pretty easy to do, needs an investment of an hour each on Thursday and Friday morning in Dublin city centre plus maybe an hour to write up and post the results: if anyone's interested I can give a bit of advice.

Hey Poisoned Peregrine, some of the poison must be effecting your mind. When did you ever hear a Fianna Fail Gombeen man or a greedy developer use wording such as ''assualts on our local environment ''.
We all know that Fianna Fail or their developer friends dont give a fiddlers about their local environment. I fail to understand how you misinterpreted my post as anything other than a genuine responce in support of a man, (Mr Crow) who is doing somthing positive with his valuble time.

Sorry to hear you are packing it in Mr Crow. You done a great job, thanks again.

Heh..froggie, didn't you notice the smilie?? I was just joking about the ambiguity of the sentence. It sounded like your friends were delighted to hear about attacks on the environment and the results of planning decisions.

The only people I think that could be delighted rather than saddened to hear about such things are Fianna fool people.

I am not having a go or misinterpreting you at all. Just having a dig at evil FF bastards. Peace froggie. we're all on the same side. :-)
