Is corporate music making us more compliant? In the 1960s, the music led to the money, says James Alexander. Since then, the money has been making the music to the same four chords, and it's all been downhill.

In another case of 'you couldn't make it up', there's a campaign underway to 'decolonise' exams by letting students sit their own personalised ones they could never fail. What could possibly go wrong, asks Steven Tucker.

Kevin Flanagan should learn to respect people.
Saturday 12. for some months, he has had a post about meeting in Ballymun axsis centre
there was no metting. no notice of cancellation
staff at reception of axsis were not aware of any meeting taking place.

i am not fully sure but i think that if you followed his posts you'd have seen that things had changed to a protest outside the GPO and the gesture due soon also,
his article was in some papers and this will not be prevented from happening!!
hope to see you and take care,
Robert~

Kevin sent out notices to people who left their contact details and we notified Indymedia about the change of venue and time. I'm very sorry if you came out to Ballymun on the night. . No disrespect intended from either Kevin or myself .

We've had a few fucked up confusing meeting notices lately that needed fixing up.

There is nothing more off putting to a newly active person than making arrangements and cancelling stuff in order to attend a meeting / protest that doesn't happen. It's hard enough to get bodies out there at the best of times in this Irish weather and social climate of "apathy" or "I don't have the time".

The volunteers at Indy do their best to straighten things out but if people aren't careful it's a case of garbage in, garbage out.

We ask that people putting up meeting / event notices are clear, precise and careful about the details of those meetings ok?
Thanks
WS (personal capacity)

Temperatures are due to drop to minus four tonight in Dublin . Kevin wants to draw attention to the conditions in Artane which included conditions of real slavery ,not just wageslavery , for children like his brother MIcky . Kevin is determined that those who organized the cover up of institutional abuse are brought to justice . The christian brothers want to rebrand themselves as the Edmund Rice International and are currently lobbying to get official recognition from the UN as legitimate advocates of child welfare in the third world ; the Irish public are largely unaware of this . The three government reports have effectively given this organisation a clean bill of health . Kevin deserves all the support he can get .

Con

You are a little hard to suggest Kevin ought to respect people.

He does and he respects the children of today, based on the experience he had with 'Abuse' he suffered as a young man.

Procedure, rules and regulations are but part of the executive function of life and we now know that by administration, and in particular relating to the Church as witnessed this week, the same administration is some able to contort, distort what is Truth.

Kevin stands outside the GPO. I would ask anyone to read the placards and share a view.

It is my belief that naming and shaming is the only option we can take.

Kevin is committed to a purpose. It is a pity we all do not share his commitment, Con

We ask the Legal Profession and the DPP to make a case via their 50%/50% ruling

Lisa - hello

Does anybody know why Kevin Flanagan feels forced (apparently?) to have to go to such extreme lengths?

Why are the gardaí not bringing criminal charges against the abuser/s - in circumstances where it seems there are witnesses to what sounds like very serious criminal abuse?

The best person to ask is Kevin himself. Please pay him a visit at the GPO if you get the chance , or come to the Department of Education in Marlborough St opposite the Pro-Cathederal for midnight December 24 . Kevin Flanagan will tell you how officialdom has thwarted the attempts by victims of abuse to bring their abusers to justice ,and the way that the state has conspired with the church hierarchy to buy the silence of victims through confidentiality clauses attached to the measly compensation paid out to victims .

My own view is that the whole of official Irish society is compromised by the abuse ,including the media . It has therefore fallen on brave individuals like Kevin to do whatever they can to publicise the complicities that allowed the abuse to occur in the first place and the cover-up that continues to this day.

just want say my fast is entering day six i want to thank the people from d ubiln for there support the response has been overwelming the fast will finish out midnite mass were we will burn the reports all are welcome

great standing with Kevin outside GPO for the week and also at the pro-cathedral burning the reports as the sheep ignorantly came out. (Hippocrates)
his lordship, the bishop came over to us and said that the law will take it's course, we will hold him to that but also he wont really be trusted to call for real justice!
so we have to keep fighting to see them on their knees praying for forgiveness and still being locked up for the crimes of both directly abusing children or those covering up the abuse.
these people should never be put over the care of children again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
